Anaemia occurs when the number of Red Blood Cells circulating in the Body decreases. When this happens the Blood cannot provide enough Oxygen to the Body. A person with Anaemia may feel tired or weak.

Around 3 millions people in the United States have some type of Anaemia. Anemia can lead to symptoms including Fatigue, Shortness of Breath, and lightheadedness.

Vitamin B 12 is essential for the production of RBC’s, If a person does not consume or absorb enough B12, their RBC’s count may be low.

Some Symptoms include > Difficulty walking, Confusion or Forgetfulness, Vision Problems, Diarrhea, Glossitis.

In Aplastic Anaemia the Bone Marrow cannot produce enough RBC’s which could be the result of an Autoimmune disease that damages the stem cells.

Where as in Hemolytic anaemia athe RBC’s are desstroyed faster than the body can produce new ones, causes are an autoimmune disease, infections, Bone Marrow problems & Inherited conditions such as Sickle Cell disease and Thalassemia.

Hymolytic Anaemia Symptoms Include > Dizziness, Weakness, Jaundice, Dark Urine, Fever & Abdominal Pain.

DIET

If nutritional deficiencies are responsible for Anaemia, eating more rich Iron foods can help.

Some foods that are high in Iron include; > fortified Cereal & Bread, Green Vegetables such as Kale, Spinach & Watercress, Beans, Brown Rice, white or Red meats, Nuts & Seeds, Fish,Tofu, Eggs, Dried fruits, Apricots, Prunes, Raisins.

To Diagnose Anaemia, the most common methods involves a Blood Test called complete blood test (CBC). A Doctor can use a CBC test to help detect Anaemia.

Vegetarians people culd eat Seafood including Oysters & Salmon as part of their regular Diet.
